Balles for Sheriff “Poker Run”

 

            Frank Balles, Republican candidate for Atlantic County Sheriff, will kickoff a unique grassroots fundraising effort on Sunday when he and a group of his supporters will undertake a “Poker Run” --- a motorcycle tour of the western area of the county.

 

            “This is a tremendous opportunity for me to meet and greet the citizens of western Atlantic County, to discuss important issues with them and to offer my platform and agenda for dealing with those issues,” Balles said.  “At the same time, I will ask for financial support for my campaign, the kind of support crucial to conduct an effective and ultimately successful campaign against an entrenched professional politician.”

 

            In a “Poker Run”, each participant receives a playing card at each stop on the tour.  At the conclusion of the event, whoever holds the best hand is declared the winner.

 

            The event will get underway starting at 10 a.m. at the Atlantic County Harley Davidson on East White Horse Pike in Galloway Township.

 

            Stops include the Sweetwater Casino on Seventh Avenue in Sweetwater; Country Palace on Route 54 in Buena; Custard Castle on the Black Horse Pike in Mays Landing, and concluding at Six Packs Pub on the White Horse Pike in Mullica where a “beef and beer” party will be hosted by the Mullica Township Republican Club from 1 to 5 p.m.
