Former Atlantic City Board of Education President Cornell Davis is 
sentenced to 5 years in state prison.

Judge Isman could have given as much as 10 years prison time for 
Davis' 2nd degree conviction.

Davis had many credible impact witnesses who spoke on his behalf.

Atlantic County Prosecutor's wanted to see Davis get more like 7-8 
years.

Isman was moved by Davis' character witnesses and by Davis himself and  gave him the absolute minimum sentence.

This second degree conviction does not require Davis to serve 85% of  his sentence.

He could be eligible for intensive supervision program or outright 
parole in a reasonable period of time.

Davis first trial resulted in a hung jury. In the second trial, Davis 
was convicted of one of two counts of bribery.
