Hamilton Township debacle for Steve Caldwell? Early turnout massively in favor of Democrats as of this hour (1:45pm). Caldwell appears to have been let down by the campaign itself/. There are not enough challengers for him at polling places. Democrats are organized and energized at this hour. Caldwell ran a hard campaign. Tom Palmentieri, the Democrat former Mayor, barely campaigned. He is looking to ride an Obama electoral tidal wave. Thus far, Democrats are over-performing. Republicans are under-performing.

Atlantic City election update. (1:45 p.m.) More than 7,500 votes have been cast at 1:45 p.m. This is the biggest election turnout in Atlantic City history. Just to give you a sense of scope, every single machine throughout the city is reading numbers not usually reached until 8pm closing of the polls. The afternoon push still to come will send this number to heights never before achieved. Developing.

Very creative election "Pam Card" being used in Atlantic City election. the card reads "Vote for Obama in Column A, then it refers the voter to Captain Frank Balles for Atlantic County Sheriff. Jim McGettigan's relationship with Atlantic City is reported to be very strained.

Numerous sources tell HarryHurley.net that Atlantic City Mayoral candidate Joe Polillo is receiving election help from the tatters of the former Craig Callaway political organization. This group is also reported to us to be assisting Jim McGettigan's campaign. McGettigan has a long, close working relationship with Craig Callaway.

HAMILTON TOWNSHIP OFFICIAL RESULTS FORMER MAYOR TOM PALMENTIERI LEADS STEVE CALDWELL BY 573 VOTES. Very winnable race for Caldwell. As I reported earlier, he was let down by a bad campaign. Imagine, the Republicans raised more than $ 30,000 and didn't do a single radio ad for Caldwell. Had they spent $ 2,000, probably less on radio, Caldwell wns the race. Palmenteri hardly campaigned.
